The MSc Advanced Professional Practice in Physiotherapy pathway offers the awards of Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or Master of Science degree. The full time route will normally take one year and the part time route will normally take three years. The maximum registration period for the full time registrant is three years and 5 years for the part time student. The pathway has the following core modules: Applying Evidence to Practice Project Design for Research Research Dissertation All are 20 credits apart from dissertation which is 60 credits. Total Core 100 credits. Students will complete one pathway specific core module: ADV751 Physiotherapy Practice: Supported Study Optional Modules Students will then have the opportunity to select three optional modules, possible choices include: ADV767 Advanced Clinical Reasoning in musculoskeletal conditions ADV709 Injection Therapy for Health Professionals (Corticosteroid) ADV740 Enhancing Practice in Chronic Pulmonary Conditions ADV735 Advancing the Management of Long Term Conditions ADV739 Rehabilitation: Cognition, Perception and Behaviour ADV710 Pathomechanics and Rehabilitation of Gait and Balance Other optional modules may be selected from across the range of modules offered by the School of Health Professions or wider in the Faculty. Students will complete their Project Design for Research module and the Research Dissertation in an area related to the award title; for this pathway it will be aligned to an area of physiotherapy practice. Students will discuss their choice of modules with their pathway lead and personal tutor to ensure that their selection is appropriate for their chosen award title.
