Government, the public sector, Higher Education, cultural and creative industries and business all make and use these assets every day. As well as developing the practical skills needed to manage digital media assets, students will develop their critical and reflective capacities and increase their understanding of the interdependence between digital processes, technology, society and curatorial practice. This will empower them to enter into a technologically complex and fast-moving digital world of work.
The MA takes a comparative and interdisciplinary approach requiring students to explore and critically assess competing theories and practices from across new media digital management, archival, and information science. This will provide them with a well-rounded understanding of the requirements across domains. Recent years have seen an explosion in the volume, complexity and range of digital content in a variety of media. This has also been called the big data revolution and goes hand in hand with an increasing interest in the digital economy as the engine of growth.

The MA DAMM programme at King's is a CILIP accredited programme. CILIP is the UK's professional association for library and information professionals. By taking a CILIP-accredited programme you will have an internationally-recognised qualification as an information professional, which will also enable you to work towards Professional Registration (such as CILIP Chartership - MCLIP).
